Wedding Dress Trends for 2014 – Plus Size Gowns

Being a woman of size, it’s a lot harder to stay onto the perfect fashionable trends because a lot of them just don’t suit my body type.  Example:  horizontal stripes.  Most clothing I see with horizontal stripes… I am drawn to it, it always seems to look cute on a hanger.  But once you hit a size 10 or larger, a horizontal stripe does nothing for your figure.  This happens in the wedding world as well.  I would look terrible in a dress that hugged my every curve – I don’t want most of those to be hugged (ie sausage bursting out of its casing).  And a low back or backless dresses…. Many plus sized women need to wear a good quality bra in their wedding dress which disallows the strapless or backless gowns.  No one wants to see my back fat.  Does it make sense to be uncomfortable in your wedding dress on your big day just to hit current mainstream, petite size styles?  No way!  Here are some amazing gowns I have seen that suit a plus size figure.

Most plus size dresses are a-line to hide the tummys and large hips (for good reason).  But some of these even have that lacy, vintage, feminine romantic kind of look that is trending right now and even a little back showing on that Mori Lee dress!
